Privacy Policy

Echolead is a concert and live-events tracker for Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We try to collect as little personal information as possible, we never sell it, and we don't run advertising or cross-site tracking. This page explains what we collect and why.

Information We Collect

• Email address — only if you choose to sign in. We use passwordless "magic link" login, so we store your email to send the sign-in link and to associate any events you save or profiles you claim. We don't store passwords.
• Saved events — if you save (favourite) an event while signed out, that list is kept locally in your browser. If you sign in, your saves are stored in your account so they follow you across devices.
• Submissions & claims — if you submit an event or claim a venue/artist profile, we keep what you send us so a moderator can review it.
• Basic usage analytics — aggregate, non-identifying page-view data (see Analytics below).

How We Use Your Information

• To send you a sign-in link and keep you logged in.
• To remember the events you've saved.
• To review and publish event submissions and profile claims.
• To understand which pages are popular so we can improve the site.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Cookies & Local Storage

We use a single first-party session cookie to keep you signed in. We use your browser's local storage to remember preferences and any events you save while signed out. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Analytics

We use a self-hosted, privacy-friendly analytics tool (Plausible) to measure aggregate traffic. It runs on our own server, does not use cookies, and does not collect or store personal data or build cross-site profiles of visitors.

Third-Party Links

Ticket and event links take you to external sites such as Ticketmaster, Eventbrite, and individual venue pages. Once you leave Echolead, those sites' own privacy policies apply — we have no control over their data practices.

Data Retention & Your Choices

You can clear your saved events at any time from your browser. If you'd like us to delete your account and the email associated with it, just ask and we'll take care of it.

Children

Echolead is a general-audience listings site and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
