Echolead for AI assistants

Echolead has a public MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so an AI assistant can look up live music, comedy and theatre events for you. Ask which shows are on tonight or this weekend, what a venue has coming up, or when an artist is next in town.

  • Free, and no account, sign-in or API key.
  • Read-only. The server cannot change anything.
  • Echolead never sells tickets. Every show carries a link to the venue or official seller.

The five tools

find_events

Find live music, comedy and theatre for a place and a time window (tonight, this weekend, or a date range), optionally filtered by kind or a search word.

Try: “What live comedy is on in Halifax this weekend?”

get_venue

Get a venue's profile (address, type, website) and its upcoming shows.

Try: “What's coming up at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton?”

get_artist

Get an artist's profile (genre, bio, origin, website) and their upcoming shows.

Try: “Is Wolf Parade playing anywhere soon?”

get_festival

Get a festival's dates, city, lineup and official tickets link.

Try: “When and where is Bass Coast 2027?”

list_coverage

List the countries, regions and cities Echolead covers, with upcoming event counts per city.

Add it to Claude

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Choose Add custom connector.
  3. Name it Echolead and paste https://echolead.live/mcp as the URL. Leave any authentication fields empty.
  4. Turn the connector on in a chat and ask about events near you.

Add it to ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps (in some plans, Connectors) and turn on developer mode if asked.
  2. Create a new app, and paste https://echolead.live/mcp as the MCP server URL.
  3. Choose no authentication, then save.
  4. Start a chat, add Echolead from the tools menu, and ask about events near you.

Any other client that speaks streamable-HTTP MCP can use the same URL.

Coverage

Echolead lists events across Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium, Switzerland, France, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Austria, Iceland, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Portugal, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Estonia, Romania, Serbia, Latvia, Luxembourg, Armenia, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Malta, Georgia, Bulgaria, Montenegro & North Macedonia. If you are unsure whether a place is covered, the list_coverage tool says so, and find_events answers plainly when it does not list a place.

Data use

The server only reads the public event listings you can already see on echolead.live. It needs no personal information from you and has no access to accounts, saved events or follows.

For operations we keep one log line per tool call: the time, which tool, which kind of assistant called it (OpenAI, Anthropic or other), whether it succeeded, how many events came back, the place the search resolved to (for example “Halifax”), how long the search text was (not the text itself), and how long the call took. It carries no name, email or account. Our web server also keeps its usual request log, described in the Privacy Policy. See also the Terms of Service.
